Cheltenham Festival form study starts in earnest

Today see's the issue of the RP Weekender with the majority of form for all the major championship races, plus some of the handicaps, for next week's Cheltenham Festival. As of today, the form study gets serious!

I've already set out my stall with regard to the championship races and donators to the blog will have received the bulletin and supplements advising them of what my pre-Festival selections are. If you want to obtain a bulletin, and it is nearly 15,000 words with my 3-point Festival winner finding strategy, race-by-race trend analysis, and essays on the championship races, novice championships and handicaps - then all you have to do is hit the donate button at the head of this page and donate at least £10.

I've met my target of equalling last years issue of the bulletin and there is still nearly a week to go to the start of the Festival.

The midweek horseracing had been fairly ordinary this week, as might be expected, but the weekend see's a couple of interesting meetings, especially Sandown on Friday & Saturday. I'm looking to try and boost the coffers this weekend with a decent winner and I've already been thru' the entries for the weekend's handicaps and highlighted a few.

The weather forecast for the next week is much brighter, and we can expect ground similar to that in previous years at Cheltenham. I'm expecting the ground to be no worse than soft on the opening day, and probably the usual good-to-soft, and turning to "good" ground for the Thursday and Friday.

My plans for next week are to be at the track for Thursday and Friday. The blog will be going online daily as usual at about 10:30am and the intention - as in previous years - is to issue the blog on the evening before racing to those who have donated to recieve the bulletin. I am aware that some other bloggers are "password protecting" their blogs to known readers as there can be a fair bit of rogue activity in Cheltenham week with so-called tipsters ripping-off selections of respected bloggers and passing them off as their own to unsuspecting punters for a fee. While this year I'm not going down that route, I am aware that traffic visiting my blog trebles in Festival week.

The best of luck to horseracing fans.
